Pregnancy with a Debt Management Plan
Hi - can you tell me what would happen if I fell pregnant whilst in my debt management plan?
Thanks.
Thanks.

1Hi Anne,
If you fall pregnant during your DMP, you will need to update your Customer Service Officer to let them know when you will be on maternity leave and how your income will change. You will also need to advise your CSO of any other income changes such as earnings whilst you’re on maternity leave, any benefits you might receive once your baby is born, any extra expenditure you have ( for example food, clothing for the baby etc.) and your earnings if/when you go back to work.
Your DMP payment will be looked at based on these changes and we will inform your creditors of any changes in payment (if any). They will then make their decision as to whether they want to accept the new payment.
Thanks -

Hi Anne,
I agree with Kim, whilst on a DMP, as it is flexible, we can re look at your affordability in the way of how your income would change and what would be an affordable monthly re- payment once your circumstances change i.e. Maternity Pay and again going forward Child Tax Credits and Child Benefit. We could re-negotiate your monthly re-payment to suit your change in circumstances with your creditors and submit a new financial statement.
You could give your Customer Service Officer a call and discuss further.
Hope this helps -
