I am sorry to hear about your situation and hope the below advice helps. In the first instance, I would recommend that you contact your IP immediately and advise them of your change in circumstance.  They may take your information over the phone or may send you out a new Income and Expenditure sheet to complete with your new details.

Depending on your separate living arrangement, it may be that your payments can continue as your IVAs are separate with the joint debt being included in them both.

If you find that you cannot afford to meet your current IVA payment, you might be able to see if a variation can be put to your creditors to reduce your IVA contribution due to your new circumstances.

If no monies are available or the contribution is too low, it may be that the IVA is completed as it is dependent on the amount of time your IVA has been running.  If this has only been for a short time, the IVA may be terminated, meaning that the creditors are free to take any action they wish.

Your IP will be in a better position than me to advise on your circumstances, together with the position of the property as this will depend on equity etc too.

In the meantime, if I can be of any further help, please do not hesitate to contact me – but I would urge you to speak with your IP sooner rather than later to ensure that arrears are not building up on your account if you are struggling to meet you contribution each month.
